FOR THE DOUGH
1/2 C sugar 2 pks active dry yeast
1/4 C butter 1/4 C warm water
1 C lukewarm milk 2 eggs
4 1/2 C all-ourpose flour 1 tsp salt
FOR THE FILLING
3 eggs 2 Tbsp butter
4 C fine chopped walnuts 1/3 C melted butter
1 C packed lt. br. sugar 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp cocoa
FOR THE DOUGH
Mix sugar, salt, butter and beaten eggs with milk. Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to mix. Add half of flour. Mix until smooth. Add additional flour to make dough easy to handle. Knead on lightly floured board. Place in greased bowl, cover and place in warm location until doubled. Punch down and let double again.DividE into 3 parts. Roll each part into a very thin rectangular shape. Spread filling on dough and roll as for a jelly roll. Twist into a circle (like a snail shell). Place in greased 8 or 9 inch cake pan. Cover, let rise. Bake at 350 Deg. F. for 30 - 40 minutes.
FOR THE FILLING
Combine sugar, milk and butter in heavt pan over medium heat. Add nuts, then beaten eggs and mix well. Boil 1 minute, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add pinch of salt, cocoa and cinnamon and mix well. Let cool until just warm enough to spread.
