FONDUE FOR FRUIT

1/2 C finely chopped pecans 1/2 C sugar
1 C whipping cream 3 tbsp rum
4 C bite size fruit pieces 1/2 C 1/2 inch pound cake
Lightly toast pecans in 12" non-stick fry pan. When done, pour into small bowl. In same pan. over high heat, carmelize sugar, taking care not to scorch. Remove from heat. Add whippimg vream and rum. Mixture will foam. Return to pan . Reduce heat to medium. Stir until mixture is dissolved and smooth. Bring to boil, stirring occastonally, untill coats spoon. Transfer to 2 cup fonfue pan. Set over candle or sterno flame. Select 3 or 4 types of fruit, - apples, bananas, pears, strawberries, etc. Cut into bite sixe pieces just before serving.
